Academic
advising in the Hall School of Journalism and Communication
is an important service provided to assist you in making progress
towards earning your degree.
All HSJC students are assigned an advisor and are required
to see their advisors prior to registration. This helps you
stay on track in your academic program plus your advisor will
remove your advising hold allowing you to register via Trojan
Web Express.
Appointment
sign up sheets will be posted on your advisor's office door
prior to registration. Sign up early for a time that is convenient
to you. (Don't miss a class to make or keep an advising appointment.)

about how it relates to their majors and goals.

prerequisites for all classes before meeting with your
advisor.
- Have
alternatives. The classes you want may be closed.

ready to answer questions during your advising session.
Your advisor may ask about your academic performance and
plans.
