Hall School of Journalism and Communication
Advising

The Hall School of Journalism and Communication's academic advisers will be a vital part of your success as a student. They will help you navigate Troy's exciting array of academic programs and services, helping you to discover and realize your personal and professional goals.

After you declare your major in the Hall School of Journalism and Communication, you will be assigned an academic advisor from the school. You will meet with your academic advisor at least once a semester to help you stay on track in your academic program.

Your advisor will:

  • Help you plan your academic program
  • Meet with you each semester to approve your proposed schedule before you register for classes
  • Discuss the best curricula for you in light of your goals.

Troy University and the Hall School of Journalism and Communication sees academic advising as an integral and necessary component of the learning process. Our approach eases that all-important transition from high school to college life by eliminating much of the guesswork in getting started.

Contact the director of the Hall School of Journalism and Communication if you need additional information about the school's advising program.
